A Word From Your President

Dear Members:

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Carolyn Evenson on her retirement and to thank her for her service to the County.  The simplest proof of her good work is the professional, efficient and effective functioning of her office.  The smooth operation of that office is invaluable to the Bar and I am sure that we do not acknowledge that often enough!

Best wishes to Carolyn in her future endeavors.  Good luck to her successor.  Continued thanks to all of the Clerk of Court's staff, whom Carolyn has acknowledged as a fantastic asset and the foundation of everything she was able to accomplish.

Reminder, Ethics Seminar is November 11th, Holiday Party is December 4th.

Very truly yours,

Dan Habeck
President

From the Clerk of Courts

Farewell Message from Carolyn Evenson

I'd like to take this last opportunity to thank all of the members of the Waukesha Bar Association who regularly deal with our court offices for your cooperation and assistance over the past ten years.  I hope your warm, respectful treatment of my staff has been reciprocated.

To those of you who have volunteered to staff our Family Court Self-Help Legal Clinic, thank you for giving of yourselves.  You have filled an important hole in our self-help process and I am very grateful.  We continue to receive kind comments from those who utilize the services of the program.

I'd also like to thank you as an Association again for your support of our Juror Appreciation activities.  The gift of the framed photograph of the first female jurors will be enjoyed by all who frequent the courthouse for many years.

It has been a privilege to serve as Waukesha County's Clerk of Circuit Court.

-Carolyn Evenson

Clerk of Courts Website

There is now a page on the County Clerk of Courts website with information about the Criminal Justice Collaborating Council's programs.  The criminal defense bar is invited to access this page for information about the alcohol treatment court or the pretrial monitoring program.

All members should take the time to check out the new and improved Clerk of Courts website, which debuted on October 30. Especially nice are the individual pages for each judge, which include a brief bio and contact information.  Another feature available throughout the site is a quick case lookup feature.
