A Word From
Your President
Dear Colleagues:
The Waukesha
County Bar Association is proud to provide its members with three free
CLE opportunities. Coming up soon is the Ethics Seminar, on
Monday, November 5th, 2007 from 8:30 until noon at the Brookfield
Suites Hotel and Convention Center (formerly Embassy Suites). On
December 13th, 2007, a Guardian ad Litem Seminar will be held in the
County Board room on the 3rd floor of the Courthouse from 8:30 until
noon. Information and sign up for both seminars is available through
the Waukesha County Bar Association website. The last free CLE
will be held in the spring in conjunction with the annual meeting.
The
Waukesha County Bar Association board also would like to congratulate
Judge Ralph Ramirez who received the Jurist of the Year award from the
Justinian Society at the Columbus Day Awards dinner at the Italian
Community Center on October 12th. Judge Ramirez was honored
for his dedication to his community and his work on the bench.
Chief Judge J. Mac Davis also presented Judge Ramirez with a
proclamation from his fellow circuit court colleagues commemorating his
award.
In addition to
the upcoming seminars, the Bar Holiday party will be held on Thursday,
December 6th at the Delafield Brewhaus. Mark your calenders for this
holiday social event.
Sincerely,
Marjorie A. Wendt

From the
Clerk of Courts
Transmittal
of Appeal Records
The Clerk's
office currently collects a $5 postage fee at the time of filing an
appeal. Effective immediately, we will begin collecting actual postage
costs from the party filing the appeal, when the appeal package is very
large and requires significantly more postage to transmit. You will be
contacted by our office if this should occur on your case. Thank you.
