Audio CD
copies of recorded court hearings heard by court commissioners
are
available.
The Waukesha
County Court system has implemented a digital audio recording
(DAR)
program for court proceedings in front of Court
Commissioners.
The courts have been using digital recording devices for the
past
several years and will make audio copies available for all case
types
before commissioners except for preliminary hearings, some TRO's,
and
proceedings taken by a live reporter. Any hearings recorded
on
tape are now available as an audio file. An electronic
audio copy allows the
requester, at a nominal cost, to review their proceedings and
determine
whether or not they wish to proceed with the matter by purchasing
a
certified transcript.
Please
note: For official purposes, the
circuit courts will only accept certified typed transcripts for
matters
it has under review.
The cost for
an
audio CD copy (per case) is as follows:
$10 for 1-2
hearings
$20 for 3-5
hearings
For 6 or more
hearings, the cost will be determined prior to creating the copy.
To
fulfill any requests regarding certified written transcripts or
copies
of the electronic record, please contact the county court
reporters at
(262) 896-8185 (Joyce Beauchamp) or (262) 896-8375 (Nancy Hyatt).
Transcript or
Audio Recording Request Forms are available from the offices of
the
Clerk of Courts, the Juvenile Clerk, and the Register in Probate.
On-line
information and forms regarding Transcript Requests are also
