A Word From
Your President
Dear Fellow Members:
A heartfelt "thank
you" to everyone who attended the Annual Spring Awards Dinner on
Saturday, April 9, 2011. Congratulations again to our deserving
honorees: Honorable Harry Snyder, District Attorney Brad Schimel and
Attorney Jennifer Wall.
Please mark your calendars for the Annual Meeting which will take place
at the Country Springs Hotel at 12:00 noon on May 5, 2011. Please be
present to vote on the 2011-2012 budget and our new Officers and
Directors. We will also be receiving an update from our State Bar Board
of Governors representatives and our Bench-Bar Committee on items that
may be of interest to you.
Are you part of a Section? Do you want to be? Would you like to check
out one of our Sections before deciding? Following the annual meeting,
both the Family Law and Real Estate sections will be hosting one hour
CLEs. These CLEs will be open to any interested Bar Association
member-you do not have to be a member of the section to attend their
CLE. Please contact the section leaders if you have any questions.
I am pleased to announce that the Waukesha County Bar Association has
been given a grant by the State Bar of Wisconsin to help with the
installation of a wireless printer in the courthouse for use by members
of the Waukesha County Bar Association. We will provide greater details
about this project as they become available, but we are very excited
about this new service to our members.
Stay warm and remember that Spring really is just around the corner!
With warm regards,
Christy D’Angelo

Section News
New Section Forming!
The Waukesha Bar Association is starting a new Juvenile Law
Section. A notice of the first meeting of this section is
attached, and is available on the WCBA website. The first meeting of
this section will be held on:
May 17th, Noon-1:30 at the Machine Shed Restaurant
Because the section is new, this meeting on May 17th will be its
first. The section will not meet after the annual Waukesha Bar
Association meeting, as many other sections are. You will need to
be a member of the Waukesha County Bar Association to be a member of
this Juvenile Law Section. The attachment discusses the cost for
this first lunch meeting and for the section membership.
This section will provide a forum for continued education, information
sharing, mentoring, and continuous improvement of the Juvenile Law Bar
in Waukesha County. The first meeting will be largely an
open discussion about the section-meeting frequency, content, and
structure. Judge Bohren will provide some remarks about what is
new in the Juvenile Court and his ideas for this section.
Please pass let others you know who might be interested.

Marquette University’s College of Professional Studies has a
cutting edge, nationally-recognized Graduate Program in Dispute
Resolution. The program includes two options: a Master’s in Dispute

building across professional fields.
Marquette’s interdisciplinary program allows an experienced

arbitration, and multi-party, multi-issue consensus building. The
program has attracted a diverse student body, including lawyers, health
care providers, insurance executives, construction engineers, and
